Are there ticket barriers at Bristol train station? |
Travel Info I bought a ticket there and I've lost it! I don't have the cash to buy another one at the momnet so I was thinking if there arn't any barriers there I could just walk straight through as there are none at my end. Travel Tips There are barriers at both Temple Meads and Parkway stations, and they have always been staffed as well every time I've been there. I don't think the smaller stations in town are staffed or have barriers -- Filton Abbey Wood for example -- but even then, you're still taking your chances on tickets being checked on the train. Call whoever you bought them through - it's slightly possible that they might be replaced for a small fee. It's best not to chance it or you might get hit with a pretty hefty penalty fare. Others I agree with Scott- it isn't worth the risk I used to be naughty and from time to time didn't buy tickets(don't worry I am responsible now and don't condone that kind of behaviour!) but anyway, there are barriers there but if later on in the evening trains are running late they leave them open with noone checking, only happened twice! you can buy tickets from the guards on the gates but you wouldn't want to pay twice!! good luck in escaping bristol,i never liked it there so my advice would be just jump back on that train and go somewhere nicer!! |
