Baja, sea of cortex? |
Travel Info my hubby and I are wanting to plan a trip to baja sea of cortex for a whale watching trip. I have with no success found any info on to when the whales arrive. Or any place great to stay. We love to dive and snorkel. Does any one out there hav e any suggestions? Travel Tips Hola! You are probably having difficulties finding anything on the internet because its the "sea of cortez" not cortex. Anyways. The whales (blue, gray and humpback) all use the baja as birthing/mating/feeding grounds....most of the action happens january to april. They travel to the warm sheltered bays up the pacific side of the baja, as well as the calm warm sea of cortez. Most people enjoy staying in Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas, San jose del Cabo) because it is touristy and has lots of other activities as well as resorts to stay and play in. La Paz is another choice, but less touristy, there are plenty of places to stay but it is a working city. Then there are towns such as cuidad de constitution and loreto and mulege and guerro negro, as well as los barrilles and todos santos that all offer interesting things to do, including diving and snorkeling. Start by searching websites for south baja. Have a wonderful time in the Baja. Source(s): www.tourbaja.com www.bajainsider.com www.loscabos-tourism.com www.loscabosguide.com Other Travel Tips snorkels, as far as I know, were some funny little beings under the water... The Snorkels! I wachted them on tv! it is called the sea of cortez. (not cortex) the whales go to scammons lagoon to birth the calves. it is near guerro negro city which is just south of the border between baja california norte(north) (la fronteria) and baja california sur (south). this is on the pacific ocean side (not cortez side) when I have been camping there, I just go to laguna manuela which is free and just north of there, so I dont know about hotels approx 5 trips to baja You will want to contact the whale watching tours, see Bajaonline.com, or any of the extreme sports sites, key words whale watching Baja, there are lots of them. Guerrero Negro is the town to depart from. Sea of Cortez has no whales but plenty of sharks. |
