What's the best (cheapest) way to book a snorkel tour on La Princesa in Cabo?

Travel Info
Stopping there on a cruise at the end of the month and was looking for least expensive (yet safe) way to take the La Princesa snorkel tour (Santa Maria bay). A friend told me they have a good one. The ship charges $61 for the trip (with Princesa or Encore), and I've seen some websites that have it for $44 or $49. Any suggestions? Can one book directly? Thanks.

Travel Tips
I would say they are one of the best ones (safety wise and price wise). Whether it be a catamaran or a pirate ship...All the snorkel tours either go to Santa Maria Bay or Chileno Bay. However, I've seen some pretty scary wrecks pull up over the years....i.e. holes in the bow, people falling off drunk, equipment poor, staff unable to communicate in english, etc. etc. etc. I'd say spend the extra cash and go with a more reputable company. And yes, you can pay in advance online. I've included a link to a type tour company in cabo. Source(s): www.cabosanlucastours.net

Other Travel Tips
book directly......i spent a week in Cabo and its not that unsafe as you would think. Book directly and dont get caught on any of that Cruise crap....they really are a rip off, they get comission for trips they sell and they mark them up......and really if you wait till you get to Cabo, make sure you are one of the first off the boat and people will be holding up signs to do this and that...trust them and trust me....they are legit and half the price as you would pay on the ship....
And really the snorkling isnt all that great in cabo.....
I would really suggest the atv adventure.....if you are into that....for $60 you get lunch and half a day on the atv in the desert, on the beach, and in the mountains,....you will see some stuff and get better views than anyone else on the ship....i promise........
Have fun, I miss it there...... :(
Me, 3 cruises carribean, 1 week cabo, 1 week cozumel all in the past two years
Directly is the way to go. I actually went snorkeling with them and it was a lot of fun. Santa Maria is the best bay and the best place to go snorkeling in Cabo, in my opinion. Just watch out for the jellyfish...make sure you look at pictures of them before the trip. Like 10 people on my boat got stung and 1 lady even passed out! There was another one who threw up the entire way back...but she could have been drunk (open bar...free drinks), along with the being stung. When you see the jellyfish, get out of the water ASAP. Your guides/captain won't always give you a warning...My trip actually got cut short because of those stupid things. Overall, it was a lot of fun and do highly recommend it. There are some nice reefs, along with a huge variety of fish there. If you have a lot of time there...I believe the most fun you can have in Cabo is the fishing...but that's a different story. Good luck on your trip...
me (4 weeks in Cabo, 2 trips to Santa Maria Bay, hopefully moving to Cabo soon...really, it's that good)
