Is it worth to work in an oilfield company in Calgary? |
Travel Info I think to get work visa, do you know anyone working in the oil industry? Need information about salary, payment for accomodation, transport and staff like that. Thanks Travel Tips Every company is different, and many times the oil industry would have you much further north than calgary. If you work at the camps transportation to and from are "usually" covered as well as meals and accomidation. www.workalberta.com Others My ex started working in the oilfield shortly before we broke up, and all I know is he was making almost 20/hour to start, working 12 hour shifts every day for 3 weeks and then got a week off. The advise from the first respondent is very valid. You do not work the oil fields in Calgary. The high paying jobs are 9 to 15 hour drive north of Calgary. As a person with some experience, you will be working in Rainbow, Zama, Fort Saint John, Slave Lake, MacMurray etc. These places are nothing like Calgary or Edmonton. Jobs for these areas are not for the faint of heart and should only be attempted by the youthful. |
