Fairmont is a swimsuit/golf clubs/skis-snowboard type of town. I imagine you're going for one of those and you already know what to bring on that account.

If you are going onto wilderness trails:
sturdy boots/ shoes
bear spray (learn how to use it)
and a small backpack that can hold;
water, a light jacket, a rain jacket, small amount of food, maybe even gloves and a warm hat depending on how far you go out.
