In 1939, a boys club 鈥?called Boys Town 鈥?was started in the basement of the Carleton Hotel to keep inner city boys off the streets. More than 60 years later, Boys and Girls Club has grown tremendously and continues to offer flexible community-based services to meet the unprecedented challenges that face our children, youth and families. We can reflect with pride on our history of being proactive in our work with kids and their families. We have anticipated and embraced change since our inception and have expanded our services and programs to meet emerging needs. As we embark on a new century, Boys and Girls Club is committed to building and strengthening our community and will continue to offer integrated, community-based support for Calgary's children, youth and their families.
