Travel Info i know i know.. it was three questions.. but im interested! Travel Tips If you are going now check to see if the Stampede is on. That is a fun two weeks in Calgary. There is the Calgary tower, sort of like the CN tower in Toronto. There's a pretty good zoo there, Heritage Park is kind of neat if you are into seeing the pioneer stuff. Banff is a neat town and is closeby. If you go in winter you can go to the Olympic park. There is lots of nearby ski resorts. It is close to Banff National Park, which is absolutely awesome! The views are outstanding and there's a huge old hotel right on the most picturesque lake you've ever seen. Plan to have a meal there, then take a hike around the lake. Every corner you turn is another great view. The town of Banff has a real European feel to it and is fun to walk around and shop. Hey, I live in Calgary right now! All good answers above. Calgary is alright, like many other big cities, but go to Banff for an unforgettable experience. The Canadian Rockies are quite a sight and you can go to some hot springs, and take a tour aboard the Gondola which will take you over the mountains and stuff... fun times. But hey, Calgary's great - can't complain. That girl that said she wants to have sex in Calgary.... ... um.... I'm a taker!! Stampede is over, but there are dozens of other festivals throughout the year, and Banff is just a few hours away. I can see the mountains from my street. Its a cross between las Vegas and Denver , There is always something going on, and its fairly peaceful. The bus system sucks, though, so you want to rent a car to get anywhere. I went there, I lived there. I skied and hiked the Rockies. Kayaked on the bow river. Went to the stampede and drank beer along 17th avenue. |
