Travel Tips I agree, Canada Post will insure it, but then will they guarantee it is delivered, and if not, how do you track it, it may be a bit pricey, but with the fall of the Soviet Union years ago, Ukraine now is a more accessible country, the major courier companys are the best, you don't have to do it overnight, the cheapest is ground delivery, similar to Canada Post, but more reliable and you can track it on your home PC as to time of arrival and to the door delivery, it will probably cost $50-75, but it is peace of mind, but check all of the company's who go into Ukraine. Others You should try to ask one of your friends or relatives who is traveling soon to Ukraine, to take it with them and then give it there to the person of your choice. Canada Post Why not check with an international moving company? Many groups & organizations rent a shipping container and pack them up to ship to overseas destinations. A moving company may know of a shipment going to the Ukraine. You could then contact the organization, pay a part of the shipping cost....include your camcorder and get it over there reasonably. With Christmas coming....I'll bet there are plenty of containers being shipped. |
