At age 53 too late to start working on the oil rigs? |
Travel Info My dad is thinking of working on the oil rigs, he's in pretty good shape but he's 53, are there a lot of men his age working there? Travel Tips My husband had worked in all kinds of fields of work from Logging in very small outfits to cement work to paving work and construction. Being in small outfits you tend to do all ie: by running the machinery to fixing the machinery. He had started working on the rigs when he was 54. It is never too late to begin a new career. Especially if you are logical in your thinking and have a good varied work background. Others of course he should be at home with a fez and some slippers manbe a pipe and a beer watching the footy! The problem is they have been wroking there for years. I don't know if they will hire him No about 98% of Jobs ur never t o old to start unless ur above or 65. 53 is not old.....but it is probably not a good age to START doing such a physically demanding job...... its his choice if he is comfortable why not? im 38 and i went to antarctica lots of older guys there youre dads age that where in better shape them most my age i wasnt on a oil rig in antarctica but i have worked on them in texas its lots of hours and very safe they feed ya well to |
