Flying to Calgary.......?

Travel Info
I have a friend who is flying out to Calgary, problem is he is visually impaired, he is traveling on his own.. hes asked me how he would manage when it comes to finding his lugage. Ive never been to Calgary, so i dont know what the assistance is like at the airport. Will he have a problem locating his bags or will a member of staff be able to help him find it? And will they help him checking in, and assist him to the waiting area. Please help...

Travel Tips
Calgary has to be the friendliest airport that I have travelled through, I have travelled though many airports in Canada, the US, and in San Juan PR, with a 12 month old and a 2 year old, and Calgary was the only place that I recieved any help from staff, with strollers, beverages, and fussy kids, Security never broke any regulations but they did their best to help me through with the least amount of trouble. Other staff went out of their way to make travelling easier. I would say that your friend is in VERY good hands.

Others
Of course someone will help him - but he has to tell the airline he is impaired so they can notify someone to be on hand to help.
Be sure to advise the airline that your friend needs assistance when he checks in. By doing this, the staff will make sure that he is taken care of to board and disembark the plane; also it gives him priority with his luggage and they will come out first. If the staff knows that he will have a problem identifying his bags, they will put them aside and make sure that he gets them when he arrives. The airline staff is normally very helpful and they are geared to help people that need assistance. Do not hesitate to ask. I know because I have a handicapped brother that travels all the time, and he never had any problem.
Calgary is full of nice people and I hope your friend has a great trip. Tell him not to worry and to enjoy!
it would be the same as any other airport, when u purchase his ticket, let them know that he needs assistance...it is a long walk from the plane to the baggage claim area, he will need all the assistance that he can get.
