Is there good shops, malls and nightlife in Calgary? |
Travel Info I am thinking of moving to calgary from the UK i was wondering whether there was good fasionable shops there and whether the nightlife is any good and where would be the best place to go for it? Travel Tips Some good fashionable shops can be found in the Kensington neighbourhood of Calgary (which is located just outside of the downtown core). The nightlife is still pretty decent, with many of the clubs now spread apart. (In the late 80's, early 90's, many of the clubs were grouped together on 11th Ave, and became nicknamed Electric Ave -- too many drunken patrons in the same area with, too many fights forced many of the clubs to move elsewhere). Calgary (and the rest of the provice of Alberta) is going through a bit of a boom, so every employer is looking for help. Finding housing can be challenge. Even as recent as the past summer, there were people working full time jobs, but were living in campsites around the city I would strongly encourage securing accommodations first. |
