So what do you think. Australia's capital is boring? Interesting? Too many public servants? Lots of space and good roads? Let me know what you think of Canberra positives as well as negatives.

yes I love the place!
positives - great wide open roads, plenty of employment opportunities, friendly people, low crime, wide and colourful especially now in autumn when all the leaves change colour and fall, students everywhere, you can ride, walk or drive around, the nightlife is fun and its not far from major cities like Sydney or if you wish to go further down the NSW sth coast - great place (lived there too). I miss Canberra - used to live and work there off/on for over 25 yrs. Many friends still live there.

Well I've lived here all my life (22 years) and I've always said, nice place to live, wouldnt wanna visit there!

There are the usual positives: short travel times, lots of parks, lots of easy jobs (public service), low crime, definite seasons and negatives: too little to do, roundabouts.

But there are the hidden positives: free entry to nightclubs on a friday, never getting refused entry, loads of free public events, hidden cool events (masquerade balls, dalai lama)
and the hidden negatives: you always see someone you know at a party, whether you like it or not, sometimes all the free stuff isnt your scene.

I think its a really great place to raise young children. I might move to Bris for the warmth and job opportunnities in a few years, but maybe id come back with a family...,
i have been there several times for school trips and the most exciting part was getting to stay at a hotel. I guess if i had been when i was a bit older i may have found the places such as parliament house, questacon etc more interesting.

Nah,,not at all,,boring as bat sh it really !
Canberra is the only place in Australia where you can legally obtain fireworks and XXX porn. Go figure...
too many public servants its boring!!!
