What should I wear in Canberra, Australia from June 10 thru Aug 20?

Your winter woollies! Once you get to Canberra you can buy what you want there and it will be a good deal for you as your dollar buys more.

As you are probably used to the heat, you will need gloves, scarf and maybe even a beannie. You can buy very fashionable ones that don't look like ski gear in many stores. I wear pashmina type scarves as they are big and you can do lots with them - round the neck, around your shoulders as a shawl, as a blanket in the cinema!.

Some stores to get your clothes and accessories are:

David Jones - major department store
Then there are all the chain stores like Portmans, Sussan etc that you will find in the shopping district as well as boutiques.

And you can always have a weekend in Sydney or Melbourne for shopping as well. They both have different things to offer.

It'll be Winter there. At that time of the year, average high temperature is 50 degrees and it drops to 32 at night...on the average. Almost never snows there. Dress warmly.
very very warm clothes. even here in sydney at that time you have to rug up everyday, canberra hits freezing temperatures, and is very close to the snowy mountains.
You'll need to dress very warm - Canberra can get brutally cold in winter although it won't go below freezing during the day. Watch out for morning frost!
You will need to dress warm, but you wont have to go overboard. Its not like it is the fashion capital of the world!

Just wear jeans, boots, a nice top or jumper, a jacket, scarf and gloves if you want.

I often go to Canberra to visit friends and that is generally what I would wear.

Canberra is one of the coldest cities in Australia and you'll be there in the depth of winter, so you'll want to pack a whole bunch of REALLY warm clothing.
A good quality wool pant suit will get you thru the work day. Jeans will be great for the weekend.

A long coat is needed especially in the morning and late afternoon onwards.
