Canberra is usually still pretty cold compared to other major cities at this time of year but it's not as cold as August when the wind chill factor makes it pretty horrendous. Sept/Oct is when spring starts to creep in. Probably one of the nicest times of year in the ACT actually.

I live there, its getting nice at that time, but it can be cold at night and some days, bring a jacket.
Generally pretty nice, warming up a bit but still a crispness to the mornings!!
cold most of the time. bring a jumper/jacket/both!
