I suggest the following: Australian War Memorial - you can spend days in here and not see is all. Old/New Parliment House - you can come to canberra and not go even if it is briefly. Telstra Tower - see all of Canberra from one spot. It's only 3.50. Bus Depot Markets (Sunday only) - high quality Art Farty markets. Make sure that you try some Ethiopia food. You should definately check out... Australian War Memorial Telstra Tower Mount Ainslie National Museum of Australia (NMA) Lake Burley Griffin (all the parks etc) The restaurant strips in Civic, Manuka, Kingston & Griffith Old and New Parliament House Its a very well planned, pretty city. Make sure you take a look around Lake Burley Griffin at night when all the buildings are lit up (particularly the National Library, NMA, to Parliament House. See the tourism website for more info. www.canberratourism.com.au you should go to some bars and see some local bands, particularly dahahoo and casual projects. you should walk to the tall flats you can see from civic under the shadow of mount ainslie and buy some drugs, you should go to fyshwick and buy some porn. you should go paddleboating on the lake. you should stand on mount ainslie and see the city lights stretch out before you. you should go to tuggernong and beat up some rednecks. hire a whole pile of videos with no intention of returning them. the bars you should go to are the pheonix, toast and tilleys. oh red gecko too.. ask for tommo he'll hook you up with a good time. ah man this is a joke right? ACT? theres nothing there im affraid unless you like porn videos but we have them in every other state now too so just skip it and move on to glorious Melbourne |
