I鈥檓 Kenyan aged 27, I have to decide where to study fro my postgrad; a major factor will be being able to work to pay for daily bills, food, rent, etc. which city would be better?

Well, this would depend on your priorities and what University you end up attending.

Firstly, Australian National University in Canberra is ranked as the best in Australia. So, if you want a to get a really good post-grad, then Canberra would be a good choice.

Melbourne is the most multi-cultural and diverse city you will find in Australia. Laid-back, plenty of events and good weather make it an ideal place to live. The job factor here is much better than Canberra, and Melbourne University, Monash University and others are recognized.

In you case, i strongly advice you to go to Sydney or Melbourne, here you can study and work too....

I cannot suggest which University may be the best, but I can say that Melbourne is the larger of the two cities.

Melbourne is more interesting to live in.
Melbourne has greater employment opportunities.
Melbourne has more accommodations options.
Melbourne is far less boring than Canberra.

If Canberra has the better Uni, then go there, otherwise Melbourne is the clear winner.
