Travel Info Where can i get a good steak in mexico ? Travel Tips Northern Mexico has GREAT beef. If you travel to Torreon (off the tourist track) you can have your choice of restaurants. You can try a variety of Mexican dishes, or even try Argentinian or Brazilian restaurants using the same great beef. Some suggestions for local Torreon restaurants are Pampas do Brasil, Garufa (Brazilian), La Majada and Steak Palenque (Mexican). If you have time to stay awhile, purchase your beef to cook at home or purchase it pre-cooked on the weekends "para llevar." Our favorite chain of meat markets is Carnes la Laguna, but there are others. You can buy pre-marinated "arrechera" there as well as many other wonderful cuts of meat.
