Were Cuncun hotels rebuilt after last year hurricane? Is it safe to go there now? |
Travel Info I would like to hear from people who was there just recently in 4-5 stars hotels. Travel Tips 99% of Cancun is rebuild. This is not New Orleans. Quite safe to visit too. Others Yes, I'm a travel agent and I can safely sell most all properties in Cancun and south of Cancun. There are a few that are still rebuilding. The beaches have been rebuilt. There are some malls and restaurants that aren't open, but I don't go to Cancun for the malls. I was at the Royal Porto Real in Playa del Carmen, very, very nice, in June. I was very pleased. Hope this helps you. I just came back from my honeymoon there and I LOVED it! We stayed in a 5 star resort called the Aventura Spa Palace Resort, which I highly recommend, it's an adult only resort great for couples, it's also all-inclusive. Having an all-inclusive hotel is great, your meals, drinks and snacks are all included in the package! Go to palaceresorts.com to check out other Palace resorts that are all-inlcusive and 5 stars, they have different resorts for family, adults, and singles. I went there in Dec of last year, saw a lot of damage, but I stayed at the Riu, it was fine. Bullt in 2003 so one of the newer ones. I was there recently in august and a lot of hotels during the night did not even have lights because because they were still repairing. I stayed in the omni hotel and all the rooms smelled like water from the flooding. The hotel had to upgrade us to a junior suite because of the inconvenience. but there is still a lot of things you can do there, for example the jungle tour where you can ride the jet skis and snorkel in the water as long as you want to. If you decide to go I know that you will have a great time. It really depends on who you go with. I went with most of my family. |
