Have you heard about any crimes against tourist in Mexico? |
Travel Info Friends and I are getting ready to take a trip to mexico but we were told that the locals are becoming violent agianst tourist and mugging them for their money and passports. I'm worried about going and thinking we should go somewhere else. Travel Tips there are a few more crimes but don't act like a drunken fool and only take registered cabs places and you'll be fine. your hotel should have a list of approved taxis or shuttles. be careful and have fun. Others there have been crimes against tourists in mexico city and also in the more rural mountain areas. cancun and the riviera maya are pretty safe, but dont make yourself a target either. you can see more info about this at us travel warnings website. HAHAHA you only have to watch the news. The goverment has a web site you can check http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw... It's been going on forever. My husband was mugged there, although he beat the you know what out of the guy. Teenagers have been kidnapped and killed. Just stay with a group and don't drink too much, be aware of your surroundings. You can go there and be safe if you're smart and vigilant. You can get hurt right here in the wonderful USA, if you aren't careful. I've heard all the Urban legends mostly. But there was an elderly couple a few years ago that went to mexico in an RV and were never heard from again Americans are spurting hatred at mexicans all the time, I expect they would not be too welcoming to you. You don't have to go to the old Mexico. Why not go to their new state? Florida! It has plenty of white sandy beaches and sunshine. Also while there visit their best attraction, Disney World! P.S. Really I don't think it is safe anymore. |
