Other Travel Tips I haven't stayed there but we drove by it, its a really nice hotel but from what I remember it was a little far from the downtown area. I was there this past August. We celebrated my parent's 30th anniversary there. It's beautiful and has so many ammenities included that there is very few reasons to leave the hotel. It is pretty far from the city and local attractions but the rooms are wonderful, the spa is top of the line, and the restaurants that you have to choose from are all well worth it with great food for dinner. Breakfast is very good also, the options for lunch were my only complaint about the whole trip. The pools are crystal clear and beautiful, there is several beach activities to do including volleyball, soccer activities and in addition to the 5 star accommodations to just sitting and soaking in the atmosphere. Since it is an adult only atmosphere everything is very serene and feels very private. A great place for a couples trip. Hope that helps, I would definitely recommend it. Is nice i work in the Royal hideaway 20 minutes driving from that one, the beach is gorgeus,is nice because you will be close to playa de el carmen,try to go to blue parrot club,mmbo cafe on wensdays,get a lounge bed on Mamitas beach,drink a cahuama on the street....
