Car hire in Cancun? |
Travel Info i am going to cancun for Xmas and am thinking of hiring a car while there. Anyone been this year and if so was it ok the reason for asking is we went to the other side of mexico a couple of years ago and were warned quite strongly not to hire cars Travel Tips We had a car in in Cancun 10/05 and it wasn't bad driving outside Cancun but streets there are confusing i.e. Left turns from right lane, round abouts ect.. Especially hard if you don't speak or read spanish !! We were lost for hours. Driving there you do take risks the hotel you are at will warn you to be careful, I would just suggest using Taxi's and buses it is soo much easier ! Others Ive been there 4 times including 2 months ago and never had a need for a car as it is one long road with water either side and the buses are 1 minute apart up & down all day long. Hire a speed boat instead much more fun!!! You'll love it. Email me if you need any further info Don,t bother hiring a car, its cheap enough, all taxis are logged by police and all fares are set. |
