Is Expedia trustworthy to book a resort? |
Travel Info I found a deal with Expedia Travel to book a vacation at an All Inclusive Resort. The deal is significantly less expensive than booking through the Resort. I dont know if Expedia is the best way to book a vacation. Any suggestions? Travel Tips I ussually take about 4-5 trips a year and I always use Expedia. Last year I booked a trip to Puerto Vallarta and everything was cancelled due to the hurricane. I had no problem getting my money back. They took care of contacting the airlines and the hotels. I often use them more for flight research; I see the flights and prices they have and then I go to the airline's web site and usually find a cheaper price for the same flight. I suggest you call the hotel directly and ask for rates. Then ask why Expedia has it cheaper. Sometimes they will match it, other times Expedia got a great deal and you win. :) Two years ago my daughter booked a vacation to Vegas through Expedia. It was a great vacation. She booked it for me and my two daughters. We had a great time and the hotel and accomadations were nice! I have booked hotels through Expedia, and I have never been dissapointed. I've had mostly great experiences with them - especially as far as the booking procedure goes. I did have a rental car issue with them. The website disclosed the rental age for a certain company to be 21 w/ credit card, but when I arrived...that specific location had a rental age of 25 (which made me too young). Thank goodness I had someone with me who was over 25 or my vacation would have been hugely affected. The resort may not have your reservations immediately, because Expedia still faxes over the reservations...but I've never had a hotel / resort simply NOT get my reservations eventually. I really love Expedia and use it for all my travel needs. :D I use expedia for all of my travel even just to book a hotel for an overnite trip. I have not had any problems. I have booked flights all inclusive and hotel and flight combos. Have a great trip. I'll be very careful. They tried to scam me (1,254.95 USD) . There are also awful stories about EXPEDIA. The link below is the result for "EXPEDIA complaints" in Google. It is scary. |
