Travel Info Im a 27 year old single male from Chicago! Where would be best for me to visit? Is Cuba safe for Americans? How about Belize? Money is somewhat limited so what should I do? Travel Tips Since I am Belizean, of course I will say Belize. There are lots of things to do there. You can go snorkeling, diving in the cayes, or see various cultures down south, like the Garifuna. There are also the Maya ruins spread throughout the country. There is the Jaguar Reserve, where you can view these great animals in their natural habitat. It depends on what tickles your fancy. Plus there is a large Belizean community in Chicago, so you mention you're from there and its like you're a part of the family!! One word of advice, stay away from Belize City, especially at night. Everywhere else in the country is pretty cool, especially the cayes. Others i met lots of Americans in Cuba, who flew in from Canada and they all felt welcome by the Cubans.......Cuba is beautiful. Take cash to Cuba. No credit cards accepted...just good old USA green. if you are US citizen, be very careful if you go to Cuba; if ICE finds you have been there, you can get $$$$ fine. I would try Belize, you can go Cave tubing! It's a long day, but a fun adventure. http://www.belizeisfun.com The Belize dollar is locked at $2 Belize = $1 US. So it's very easy to see how much something is costing in US when you go shopping. Most accommodations and tours are listed in US$ prices, and most restaurants, shops, etc. are listed in BZ$. Make sure to verify if prices are in BZE or US though, about 80% of them may be BZE in touristy places and 20% in US. Seems like they're trying to make it easier, but it just ends up being confusing. =) Ok chicagoan...(like me too :-) ) well I dont know about the risk in cuba.... maybe exist they don麓t like amercan guys you know , but cancun is super some tips: buy caned food or dry soups (knorr , la moderna, or other brands is some soups that can be ready in just a few minutes just pour water let that this boil for 5 minutes and drop it the dry soup and 3 minutes more you got it! (I bring a lot of them for regular rutine I found that are with good flavor and are very cheap around of 0.50 cts.for a liter of soup watch out all is in metric measures ok? ) buy fresh fruit (this is healty and great flavor you can buy some snacks in sealed packs ) if you have a tent bring the tent is good places for camping very cheap.... hotels cost the same that in US depends how many stars they have one 2 or 3 is ok....dont drink regular water just in bottle or purified I dont know if the water is safe for you...) but coconut water is great and fresh very interesting flavor... good luck! |
