Is it safe to travel to Cancun, Mexico with our 1 year old?? |
Travel Info We would like to visit Cancun, Mexico this coming July with our 1 year old and would like to know if it is safe. We would be staying at a resort but the ride to the Hotel does not include a car seat. We know how careless those drivers are when transporting people back and forth to their hotel. We take all the precautions here in the U.S. to make sure our baby is safe in his car seat and it seems silly to disregard all of this because we're in another country. Also if our baby should get sick, is the medical system as good as ours? Thanks Travel Tips Very safe, bring your own car seat and gate check it. =) Others Of course. Just don't act stupid and put your child in danger. If you plan to party, it would be a bad idea to take your baby at all... but if you're there for other reasons, then it should be fine. Afterall, your baby will not be the first baby to ever enter Cancun. Mexican babies live there, and they're getting along just fine. I have been there, but not w/ my kids... they do drive crazy... You would be fine at the hotel/ tourist areas... Is the ride provided by the hotel itself?? They are usually better drivers than the taxi's...bring tylenol and whatever else you may need..Maybe pack some bottled water for the baby... No not safe Of course it is safe, however it is stupid. Why would anyone want to travel on vacation with a baby is beyond me. You will not have fun, you will be paying for something you will not enjoy, and everyone around you will hate you. This will be something you will regret, but hope you have fun anyway. I just got back from Cancun - i would never take my child there....even when she is 12! no way - crazy drivers!!!! it's safe, take the car seat with you, but just so you know; I don't know it you'll fully enjoy it, cause traveling with a baby is very hard. ( I have a one year old too). and Cancun is a very nice place, if you're not expecting to go to clubs at night, then you'll be fine. Take a stroller too, you'll need it. Have a nice and safe trip. By the way for all those that say that they drive like crazy, well I live in Arizona and believe me there is not such difference between Mexico and here. California is worst then Mexico in my personal opinion. |
