See the ruins at Chechen Itza. Rent a car or sign up on a bus trip it's well worth it. On the way to Chechen Itza, there are a couple of other things worth seeing if you have time. The colonial city of Valladolid is nice and will give you a pretty good feel for non-touristy Mexico. The ruins north of Valladolid at Ek Balam are impresive as well. Dzitnup Cenote near Valladolid I personally haven't seen but I've heard it's good too. If you have time and are getting tired of the beach see those other things but for sure see Chichen Itza, make time for that. Below are some links for you. At night the clubs are cool always pay extra for a wrist band to get open bar for yourself it beats carrying around lots of money i suggest Coco bongos the place rocks |
