Cancun in august?honeymoon time!? |
Travel Info Hi am trying to plan my honey moon had thought of a few days in new york then off to cancun. Will be mid august, my other half wants beach holiday thus cancun part. whats the beaches like there? I would like the stereotypical white sands etc etc! Or would carribean be better? I know its raininy season but does that mean will be raining lots everyday? Could go to indian ocean but i really fancy a few days in new york! thanks for any replys! Travel Tips For your Honeymoon you will love Cancun, check out Tulum and Chichen Itza if your a first timer!! For your hotel I would recommend The Moon Palace or the El Dorado Royale, both are very romantic and you'll love them both. http://www.cancun.com has alot of info on weather and other tours. Have fun =) Others my daughter went honeymoon to Cancun last year and was told by october the hurrican season would be finished - it wasnt they got stuck in hurrican wilma. try islamujeres while in cancun Cancun used to have fantastic beaches, but after Hurricane Katrina, a lot were taken away by the surf. Subsequently, sand was trucked back in, but wave action has taken most of that away as well. The pools are nice but the Beach ????? Maybe you should try Playa Del Carman about 40 miles south. Cancun is lovely. Be prepared for it to be quite lively along with the gorgeous powder white sand too. If youre not too keen on just going for the beach, theyve also got lots of shops, bars, restaurants etc..... You can go and swim with the dolphins, enjoy catamaran trip and see some fantastic sights too. I was out there for 4 months and it is great. The entertainment, poeple, lifestyle, food, beaches are all fab. I do reccommend the Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun if youd like a bit of luxury, but the Riu Cancun is not bad either (a bit livlier). If you stay at the Palace, you can use all the amenities at the Riu Cancun anyway. Riu Cancun has something going on 24hours a day. Hope this helps. Anymore questions, i hope i can help x me Beware of hurricanes, if you are thinking ANY part of the Carribbean. I also honeymooned in the Carribbean (Jaimaca) in August of 2004 and was very fortunate that I made in it and out between two massive hurricanes (Charley & Danielle.) Generally the 'rain' you'll see in the islands would be a 20 minute mid-afternoon shower. Not a big deal. If you've never been to the Indian Ocean, I'd say go there. To me, the Carribbean seems so boring compared to something on the African Coast. I was in South Africa last September and it was amazing. Indian Ocean gets my vote! |
