It's only a few kilometers away, but a world of a difference between the hotel zone and downtown Cancun.....Plaza Las Americas is a must see and great restaurants and open air markets.....We like to visit Market 23 mid morning, if you get there too early some of the shops may not be open,......Stroll along many meat, and vegetable stands with shops selling everything from Juice to Mexican handicrafts, if you continue north to Plaza 2000 mall, it's a smaller mall but has great prices......from there cross the street to the north of the plaza ( Avenure Lopez Portillo ) you'll find more shops !! For lunch drop by Market 28!! El Cejas Restaurant is awesome!!

In the evening families spend time at Palapas park, where there are many YUMMY taco stands....when your done head back to Ave. Tulum to catch a bus back to the strip.
