What's a nice Cancun hotel for a couple, moderately $$, w/ ocean facing balconys, near clubs, shops, etc?

Travel Info
Doing a last minute trip to Cancun March 28-April 2 for the first time. We are a fun, active couple around 30. We want to stay at a nice, moderately priced (less than $300 nightly - even better if AI), resort that has nice direct beach access for swimming, ocean facing balconys, entertainment, good options for food and drinks, near dance clubs, shops, etc. Don't want to be extremely isolated. Open to AI or EP. Cleanliness is very important. Any thoughts regarding Blue Bay Getaway, Grand Oasis Playa, Aquamarina Beach Resort and Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun? Also - what's the most efficient & safe way fromt the airport - shuttle van or taxi?

Travel Tips
go on line and do a search "last minute vacation packages"
and see what comes up. Do "cancun, mexico hotels" and see what comes up. Also hotels.com. Don't go to the Americana Condesa Cancun, my husband and I hated it. They gave us a terrible room and when we complained they said they were all booked up, and we knew they were lying. Also the front desk help were very snobbish and condescending. They cater to Europeans alot. We just were so disappointed. Go on line to all the hotels you mentioned and take a video tour of the rooms which they normally have now. Also you mentioned about the safest way to the hotel..I would say the shuttle van that is affiliated with the hotel, as a taxi service is a little suspect sometimes in Mexico. Also do not rent a car in Cancun or anywhere in Mexico as if you get in an accident you could end up in jail. That is what we heard when we were down there. What we took was the transportation buses that stop at every beachfront hotel and they pick you up for a nominal fee and bring you to town and they continue like a circle 24 hours a day. There are some lovely seafood restaurants in Cancun, just ask concierge and people you meet. Good Luck

Others
El Cheapo. I'd take a taxi there. It's a cardboard box, it's free. But, it is air conditioned. Good luck!
Look into the Golden Panassus. It is located in Cancun and is very close to everything. It use to be the Golden Crown Paradise. It is an adults only. The only adult only on the list that you have is the Blue Bay and it is not worth the money to stay there. One of the worse hotel in Cancun..
It's been a while since I was there, but I stayed at the Best Western. There are probably more than one down there, but I stayed at the one that was along the beach. If you were on the first floor, there were sliding glass doors in the room and you could walk directly out onto the beach. As I remember, it also had a place to eat in it as well as a gift shop. At the time I went all the help were able to speak at least enough english to easily converse with them.
All of your choices are good. But I would check out Dream Cancun too, It fits all of your requirements. Most packages provide transportation from airport to hotel. If not, taxi is the fastest, the shuttle is cheaper but stops at every hotel to let passengers out.

Have a fun trip
Royal Solaris , or the Parnassus would be a great choice, as for transportation, it would be included in your package if you did land separate then you can hire a private van which is why easier then any bus or taxi.

=)
Check the Gran Caribe Real in Cancun. It is all inclusive. We stayed there last year and it was wonderful. Great rooms, plenty of food choices even though they were just so-so (we didn't go for the food), nightly entertainment, 2 pools, great beach and the whole resort was spotless all of the time. It is right in the middle of clubs, and shopping. We are going back again this year. Hope you have a great time. Go to site below and type in gran caribe real and you get lots of traveler's photo's and reviews.
