Travel Info I will be traveling to Cancun in early July for our honeymoon. How busy is hurricane season then? Travel Tips Hurricane season starts June 1-Nov 30th. As you know weather is not predictable but I would say you will be fine. Sept and Oct are the months the water heats up and fuels the hurricanes Congratulations and have a wonderful honeymoon Others Hola! Usually hurricane season starts June 1st, but this year since the "El Nino" dissipated, they are now predicting a "La Nina" which will make it the worst year for storms. I would go ahead and make your plans anyways. Its almost impossible to plan around the potential chance of a hurricane. Another thing about Mexico, is they are very used to these types of storms and all the hotels have a contingency plan if you decide to ride it out. Also we have a 3 plus day warning, so you can fly out before it hits. If you do ride it out, you would be surprised at how fast they fix things and get everything up and running again. Remember, tourism is their biggest industry! If you visit Cancun you can hardly tell they were hit hard last year. Even the weather man can't predict the weather, go enjoy your self and keep your self informed, I go to Cancun soooo much and don't plan my travel on weather on my personal time, when I work I fly their sooo much and you can't miss out on a destination based on hurricane season you can only be cautious........Enjoy your honeymoon try Moon Palace, it's awesome.!!!! =) Flight Attendant http://www.cancun.com I have been there twice in July and have had no problem.
