Travel Tips I always drink bottled water, but Cancun does have a purification system so personal choice =) Others water's safe at all resorts in Cancun - they all have purification systems All hotels in the hotel zone have safe water. They have a purification system in place. s Still. Try drinking bottled water when possible. While many resorts and restaurants may have a water purification system, not all of them have the same kind of system to purify the ice.. Try to avoid ice. You might or not might get sick, it might be that the filters are actually very good and that the ice is just harmless. But is better to prevent and not risk it, that way you'll enjoy your vacation more. Good Luck only drink bottled water unless you want to go to the hospital when you get home... I would stick to bottled water. For saving a few bucks you could waste your holiday laying in a bed with stomach pain. However, must new hotels like Riu, have their own very advanced de-saltification and purification systems. It is cheaper for them to do this than buy the water from the public water system. Also, all ice is produced from the same purified water. It is the law in Mexico, to produce ice from purified water, for the hotel or outside providers. Riu wouldn't not want to ruin your experience with them, for serving you bad ice. Plus, come one, would you like to not have ice in hot Mexico. I would not, and I live in Cancun. |
