Take some cash and your ATM card or Visa. =) Others Take traveler's checks, definately. If they get lost or stolen, you can have them replaced. Better to be safe than sorry. Experience I would definately suggest Travelers checks - much safer to travel with and almost everwhere can cash them in. Have Fun! Travelers Checks and Visa Travel Money. As well as a SMALL amount of hard cash. The very BEST thing to do is carry only a small amount of cash and use the ATM machines to get cash out as needed. Travellers checks are often hard to cash in Mexico. You can use dollars or pesos in Cancun...pesos give you better value. You can get either from the ATM. Charlie has the best answer. You will spend a lot of time trying to cash traveler's checks and will not get the best exchange rate. Some places will not accept them. Take you ATM card and a small amount of cash. I live in Mexico and that's what I do. It is much safer and more convenient. |
