Rental car in Cancun, departure flight from Cozumel? |
Travel Info How can I most efficiently return my Cancun rental car and get all the way to Cozumel airport for my departure flight? I'll be in a group of six, so I want to do this as economically as possible. Travel Tips That's awkward for sure. If all six of you are going at once it may be easiest to just split on a taxi from the Airport to Playa del Carmen or Puerto Morelos and catch a ferry to Cozumel from there. There is a bus from the Cancun airport to PDC every hour but by the time you pay for six fares it would likely wouldn't be that much more expensive to take a cab (or two) if there isn't a mini van available. If you want to try to bus it, Riviera bus lines runs from the airport to Playa Del Carmen bus terminal, 3 blocks from the ferry terminal. Costs 65 pesos per adult (~US$7) & 33 per child one-way. Tickets can be bought from the driver or from a kiosk in Terminal 2. Buses run from the airport hourly 1030-2030. It leaves from outside the main arrival hall at the airport. Just before you exit the terminal, there is a Riviera counter, where you can buy tickets. In Playa del Carmen the bus stops at the main bus terminal on 5th Avenue and Juarez. I don't know about the ferry from Puerto Morelos, if you could find out the times of that then it would be closer to the Cancun Airport and likely cheaper by cab. Good Luck.
