Cancun - what to do?

Going to Cancun in July. I'm looking for ideas on what to do once I'm there. My partner and I are not into clubbing. W'e've thought about going to Xcaret, is it good? Any other recommendations?

I've been to the Riviera Maya (about 30-40 minutes from Cancun). We went to Xhitchn Itiza (not sure if that's exactly how you spell it) and Tulum - you'll be able to find both by doing an internet search. Enjoy.
About 20 minutes south of Cancun there is a place where you can rent 4 wheelers and ride them with a guide through the jungle and on the beach. VERY good time! Not as strict as you might think. Even stopped on the beach for a couple of beers!
Why are you going to Cancun if you're not into clubbing? That is the main activity there. The beaches are nice and of course there is fishing, skiing, snorkeling, etc. The ancient ruins are several hours away. but to be honest Cancun is basically a party spot. Stay away from downtown at night. During the day it is OK.
Go to www.tripadvisor.com & read the reviews. I never go anywhere before doing so. I am going to Playacar, Mexico in November.

Go see Chichen Itza, take the boat out to Isla Mujeres, where you can spend the day. You get around the Island on Golf Carts. You can also swim, snorkel etc. Xcaret is great.
