Hotel Recommendation on Isla Mujeres?

Does anyone have a particular hotel they prefer on Isla Mujeres? We're looking for something near the beach and downtown, but not too expensive.

I just got back last week from Ilsa Mujeres. It is wonderful in every way from the locals to the Cuban cigars, and the turtle farm. We stayed at the Avalon reef club which they call a 3 star but I would say 4 stars. Very nice place with very nice staff, rooms and food. It is right on the beach, you can go out back snorkel in kings bath which is top notch. We got a villa which is a little more money but not much, I think 70.00 for the week. This resort is rather cheap in price when doing the all inclusive package.This was are first time in Mexico and already have planned our return trip to the Island. Avalon reef club will take care of all your transportation needs. From the airport to the ferry and then to the hotel. This will save you about $65.00. Oh be sure to rent the golf cart for the day to see the island. This hotel and island is so cool. You will see people from all the world here, from all ages also. Good luck and have fun.

Well, there doesn't seem to be much to choose from, at least downtown.

The Unik...it is a 3.5 star hotel
84 rooms 24 hr room service, 4 restaurants
poolside bar and a swim up bar
2 pools spa exercise room sauna and jacuzzi and they have live entertainment!
Another GREAT resort is the Avalon reef club....is a 3 star has 123 rooms 24 hr room service 3 restaurants pool bar and swim up bar, spa and exercise room and also offers an all inclusive plan!
which ever you choose, they are all fantastic properties.....we love em all!

I would recommend Villa Rolandi Gourmet and Beach Club!

There is plenty of bars, and shops around and not to expensive.
