Do they upgrade your room at Riu Cancun? |
Travel Info We are going staying at Riu Cancun the last week of June. There are 4 couples going and it is all of our 10 year anniversary. I was wondering if they ever upgraded your room or new how to get the room upgraded. Travel Tips Ask your travel agent to put in a request, or just pay the upgrade charge to avoid disappointment, the junior suite is the same as a regular room but has a sitting area , double sink and a terrace, make sure you request a King bed or you may find yourself with 2 beds. http://www.riu.com You can even email the hotel directly and request it. =) Others If you are making your plans through a travel agency have them do the upgrades for you. Perhaps they would even throw in some champagne. If you didn't book through an agency best of luck. The Riu chain is owned by a Spanish company and it seems every thing must be "requested"...like pour the good liquor not the shelf liquor. If you requested a specific floor, a specific view...at check in make sure that is actually what you got. Hope you have a great vacation and happy anniversary to all of you! My sister in law was upgraded to a suite last month in the Riu Yucatan in Playa del Carmen because she was getting married there, so it's worth asking the rep as soon as you arrive. They had to wait until the next day for the upgrade but it was well worth it. If you booked with a travel agency, have them contact the tour operator in which is was booked with and they can put a request for an upgrade, and they can also make a note on your file about the anniversaries. Just remember, any REQUEST is not guaranteed. It is subject to availability. If you do make any other requests, I would request a higher floor,oceanview, king bed. But again those requests are not guaranteed and you won't find out until you check in. If you haven't booked with a travel agency try looking up http://www.riu.com/ and see if you can email the hotel or call them to ask about upgrades, etc. Have a great time!
