Travel Info what are the funest tours in Cancun? I am looking at the Jungle tour and the Isle Mujeres day excursion - are they fun - or do you know of a better activity?? Travel Tips Jungle tour is a blast, if you like to snorkel and drive the boats. Isla tour was O.k. I thought it was a bit long (most of the day) and they trap you at there place on the Island for several hours. I would rather visit Xcaret(.com) or Xel-Ha(.com) and Tulum, or check out Chichen-Itza. It's an all day tour. If you make it down to Playa Del Carmen, (I love Playa) you can take a ferry over to Cozumel as well. $20.00 round trip per person. Zip-line tours are fun and you get to swim in cenotes. www.playatrips.com check out the tours in the area in detail on this site. cancunmap.com is a great source of info for $8.00 most of the tours are in the Riviera Maya. Others Honest opinion - stay away from Cancun as it is tourist hell. Chizten Itcha included. Try going further in the Yucatan Peninsula - much much better as you go down. if you can get to Xel-Ha, it is a natural snorkeling park found in Playa Del Carmen which in on the mainland. It is well worth the money and the time. It is pronounced like shell-Ha We went to Loma Bonita (horseback riding), dolphin discovery, party hop, and chichen itza. They were all awesome. Keep in mind unless you have a very strong stomach you'll probably be queasy by the end of the jungle tour. You drive boats out to the open ocean and float on the surface with a life jacket and snorkel. One lady got really sick. Dolphin thing was awesome but very expensive, party hop was cool just goes to night clubs, and chichen itza was cool too. It is very hot and takes all day though. All the tour guides were awesome and did an excellent job. Keep in mind they make a living from tips. I really enjoyed the tour of Chichen Itza. It was amazing to see the Mayan ruins. The tour of Isla Mujeres is well worth it....great views and a lot of fun. Avoid staying in Cancun, is like staying in Miami,kind of expensive, I went to Xcaret and Xel-Ha and had a great time, try booking a naturaleza trip, with Cenote diving, rappeling and zip-line it's awesome. Before entering the Cenote, we were blessed by a real Mayan Priest in a little ceremony it was cool. But if you like clubbing and partying stay in Cancun and go to Senor Frogs, good times. Or you can go to Cozumel and get a package with a Jeep rental, snorkling and swiming, food included. I lived in the Cancun area and got tired of the pricy and touristy aereas |
