Weather in Mexico - June/July? |
Travel Info Hi, I am going to Mexico on 24th June for 2 weeks. The travel agent said it is 'rainy season' but would probably only rain for 10 minutes or so a day. I checked the weather forecast this mornign out of interest and it looks awful at the moment. Do you think it will just rain for my whole holiday? :( Thanks Travel Tips As Mexico is a wide and large country, the weather is not a fixed fact of all its regions. Weather differs from a district to another so, it depends on where will you be in that visit, anyway, I could get you some informations and i hope it'll be useful for you. Climate By Region: Northern Mexico Central Mexico Southern Mexico Yucatan Peninsula Baja California Peninsula Northern Mexico Northern Mexico is a desert region, and as such has hot dry weather, although cooler months can experience temperatures that drop to freezing at night. Away from coastal areas, the weather in Mexico's northern states in low-lying areas is Hot and Dry, in elevated areas (like Guadalajara) the temperature is mild all year-round. [TOP] Central Mexico Inland Central Mexico will be warm or hot (and dry) during the day, although evenings can get cool, so pack a pull-over that you can use in the early mornings and nights when the difference in extremes of temperature can be felt quite acutely, especially in the winter months. [TOP] Southern Mexico In Mexico's southern region (which includes Mexico City), the climate will be similar to that in Central Mexico, but remember to keep in mind that elevated areas (like Mexico City) will be cooler and more temperate. The climate gets distinctly hotter and more humid as you travel deeper into the south / southeast and the Yucatan Peninsula. [TOP] Yucatan Peninsula Hot and humid, especially June thru August. During these months, expect the days to be swelteringly hot, with monsoon-like downpours of rain in the early evening (they usually pass within a short time and leave the night dry and cooler). Hurricane season (June-October) usually brings wetter weather, and makes weather forecasting less accurate. [TOP] Baja California Peninsula The stretch of land immediate south of California USA ("Baja" means "Lower") is Baja California, and the weather here can be divided into two distinct categories: hot deserts and cool near the oceans. Rainy days are rare outside of the 'rainy season' during September, which is why many golfers come here to play. http://www.all-regions.com/mexico.htm... It is their rainy season, but it gets so hot under the sun, a 10 minute shower is very welcome. It will pass and the sun will come back out. And don't worry about the forecast. There is a chance of rain everyday because you are in the tropics. The last time we went the weather forcast showed storms everyday. It only rained one late evening and for a few minutes 1 afternoon. The rest of the time was slightly overcast, but the sun peaked through very often. It was perfect. Hot, really hot and humid. Every time I've been in the Yucatan the weather forecast has called for rain and in 5 trips I have yet to see any daytime rain. It did rain once at night for about 15 minutes. hi, my country is beatiful, the weather on this month is very rainy, so the changes are considerable, good luck on your travel and remember visit veracruz........ |
