Something to do in south wales? |
Travel Info Something to do in south wales? Travel Tips Hmm...tricky one...lack of stuff to do is why most of us run away! Drinking is good - more pubs per square inch than there are people, adn it also helps you blot out where you are. Cardiff Bay is full of yuppies, but has the new 'Opera House', and if you're less than 12, also a Dr Who exhibition. Also has the Comedy Store which is the National Assembly. Swansea's good - pop down the Gower for the nearest thing Wales has to a proper beach-style coastline. Pop up to Merthyr for Industrial Revolution heritage and the start of the Brecon Mountain Railway. Pop to Cardiff Central Station and protest about who they think they're kidding, doing all the announcements in Welsh first. Pop to Big Pit to experience the crushing depression of being a coal (or indeed noodle) miner. Shop till you drop. Walk the Morlais Heritage Trail and revel in the remains of the Roman Road and Fort. Write poetry. Watch a male-voice choir. Then run, escape, don't look back, cos there's really nothing more to see. Others Pot Noodle mining ? find the quickest way home Drive straight out and come to London. The locals are not friendly plenty of inbreeding happening here!!!!! shag sheep Visit the Mumbles. It's a beautiful area. Bird/wildlife watching. Walks. It's somewhere where you can forget all your worries for a while. leave |
