I have tried all sites for cardiff hotels, but was hoping that there is a suburb which is easily commutable that i should try.

Other Travel Tips
Try caravan sites, B&B's etc.. You should be able to find something online.
Outside Cardiff you could try Newport (Gwent) Bridgend or Barry.
Theres the Marriott Hotel that is not too far from the stadium, or theres a Travel Inn which is in the city centre, also Mcdonald House hotel which may be a little expensive and its a 15 min walk from the stadium!
