Travel Info How far is the Golden Temple from Chandigarh? Travel Tips The journey from golden temple to chandigarh is around 300 kms and will take about 5-6 hours. Others it is 357 Kms by Road .... its 300 km by road that is 5 hours in the car and 4 hours in a train There is no train route from CHANDIGARH to AMRITSAR. It took 3 to 4 hrs to reach JALANDHAR from CHANDIGARH and further it shall take one and half hrs. to reach AMRITSAR. Highway is good but too much traffic from Jalandhar onwards...be carefull !! there are clear signs to go to TEMPLE but on a small roundabout-you are supposed to turn right..so be alert..otherwise you will land up in small and tight stree lanes !! This is aprox 365 kms. ALTHOUGH THE map shows Chandigarh-Rajpura route-I use this route which is very close and less traffic..
