The middle and upper himalayas are naturally the best. So , the higher the town/ place, the better the view. The middle Himalayas have lush meadows and pine forests. The lower/ Sivalik himalayas has loads of human being... in the form of tourists mostly ! If you are looking for quiet and stunning places, there is Rangdum, Sumur, Alchi in Ladakh; Naldehra, Sangla, Sarahan in the Shimla Region; Kalpa, Rekong Peo in Kinnaur; Gwaldham, Munisiyari, Pithoragarh, Mukteshwar, Binsar in Kumaon-Uttaranchal; Harsil, Auli, Dodital, Mori in Garhwal- Uttaranchal; Ghoom, Kalimpong, Mirik in Bengal, Lachen- Lachung in Sikkim, Tawang in Arunachal Predesh... and there are so many more. Amritsar, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kashmir, Dharmshala, Agra, Kullu Manali and many more... There are many more places worth a visit in Northern India. If you happen to visit Amritsar you should definitely visit the Wagah border and watch the Military Parade in the evening. |
