Which is the best hangout place in chennai? |
Travel Info I just want some nice place to hangaround at evenings after work. The place should be really entertaining. Travel Tips Coffee Shop ( Cafes Chennai ) Traditionally Chennai has been known for its filter coffee, Its now facing competition from international coffee flavors in the form of cafes mushrooming through out the city. MOVENPICK , The International brand from the Swiss, is the latest joint for growing cafe lovers. The Company is vending its internationally acclaimed Ice cream flavors through franchisee's in major cities. The pricing though is expensive by Chennai standards. CAFE COFFEE DAY The hot spot coffee shop in the heart of the city, Hangout at its outlet at Isphani centre, Nungambakkam or the one in Anna Nagar. QWIKYS COFFEE PUB Sterling Rd Live band shows once in a way. Ph:8255275. Qwiky's also has an outlet at T.Nagar and coffee islands at Lifestyle and Snow Bowling. Qwiky's has opened a outlet in Adyar ( near Adyar signal) and at Alsa mall, montieth road. BARRISTA'S coffee shops at Khader Nawaz khan road, G.N. Chetty road T.Nagar and nungambakkam high road. COFFEE, 10, greenways Rd, R.A Puram. MOCA CAFE is highly recommended, the coffee shop is a cool hangout and laid back. Sundar Mahal, 14, Padmavathi Rd, Jeypore colony, Gopalapuram. NESCAFE , The company owned coffee shop is next to Dass Community Center, Cathedral Road. JLT ( Just Like That ) - Just opposite Stella Maris college ( behind Gangotri) PROVOGUE lounge bar @ Park Sheraton. A cover charge of Rs.700 for unlimited liquor. DISTIL The new 'high energy' bar at the Taj Connemara. The place is crowded, the ambience is ok, the music is not bad. The quiet area reserved for business guests sucks!. Short eats are expensive and minimal portions are served. ZARA The Spanish Tapas pub - The tapas pub is the first of its kind in Chennai. The pub serves a wide variety of tapas ( short eats) which are popular servings in Spanish pubs and to wash all that down, there is wide variety of cocktails. Cocktails are the preferred drink of customers at Zara's. The ambience is just right for those long session of drinks with your friends, Interiors have been done to good taste with a touch of Spanish inspiration. Zara's can easily seat more than 100 people at a time. The tapas served were quite good but a tad expensive considering the quantity in a portion. We must say this pub is a welcome change to the usual English styled pubs. If you are wondering about the cost of liquor at the Spanish pub its definitely more reasonable than the so called Irish pub in the city. BIKE & BARREL - The watering hole at the new Residency Hotel is styled after pubs in England. The pub is laid out in 2 tiers with a large seating capacity. If you are stag(s) you are politely asked to go to the upper section, which I think is highly discriminatory and happens only in Chennai. The bar counter looks simple but neatly arranged. The interior is completely wooden to give that warm feeling but the seats could have been a little more comfortable. For sports buffs there are 2 large plasma TV screens to catch their favorite games. The walls of the pubs are decorated with souvenirs from English pubs. There is a genuine 1950 English motorcycle on display but it is suspended from the ceiling, queer thing is its lights are always on... Over all the experience is reasonable, service is reasonable, the liquor prices very reasonable for a star hotel. The best part about the place....the music is really good and loud! LEATHER BAR - Great place to chill out on Friday nights & week nights too. On the downside the bar is definitely more expensive than the others and there is no draft beer which means you pay a hell of a lot for good old ' Golden Eagle' or 'Sand Piper'. THE LOUNGE @ Savera is a low profile bar, Its got a live band playing in the evenings.The best seats would be outside, lovely breeze, calm & no cigarette smoke. They also some serve some amazing pizza's but you got to wait 20-25 minutes for one. The service is poor. SPARKS - a big pub, well laid out & spacious, doubles as a discotheque on Saturday nights, beverage prices are reasonable too.. GEOFFREY'S at the Radha Park Inn Hotel, on the koyammbedu ring road. The pub is targeted as a place to meet and party for young adults. In addition to serving draught beer and other kinds of liquor, Geoffrey's is also bringing to Chennai its signature recipes. This includes murg banno kabab, prawn wheels, crispy mushroom Hong Kong style and vegetable wantons. The service is good, the prices are reasonable for the place and the music is good too. ZARA, The Tapas Pub, Cathedral Rd. BIKE & BARREL - Residency Hotel, T.Nagar. GEOFFREY'S - Radha Park Inn, Koyembedu DUBLIN - Park Sheraton Hotel, T.T.K. Road LEATHER BAR - The Park, Nungambakkam High Road. SPARKS - Hotel Savera, Radhakrishnan Salai DOME - Le Royal Meridien, GST Rd, St.Thomas Mount. BAMBOO BAR - Savera, Radhakrishnan Salai. DURRANTS - Chola sheraton, Cathedral Rd. ARCOT - The Trident, GST Rd FORT St.GEORGE - Taj Coromandel, Nungambakkam High Rd. OAKSHOTT - If you are looking for a place with a live band. Taj Connemera, Binny Rd. MARINA - Quality Inn Aruna, Sterling Rd. WESTMINSTER - Park Sheraton Hotel, T.T.K. Road Others Besant Nagar beach probably i would choose ecr[east coast road] with my love.anyway thanks 4 making me to get 2 points. BARRISTA'S coffee shop or Bay Watch Coffee Pub at Besant Nagar. self try Qwiky's coffee pub or if you really wish watch a movie at sathyam. they have introduced a "blind date". you never know what's the film till you watch it. they only say you the censor rating. There r lots of places. But the thing is that u should have gud company. If u want gud company then lem me know. |
