How to do the navagraha darshan from kumbakonam? |
Travel Info i am reaching kumbakonam at 7am on 6/1/07 i want to do the rahu puja (rahu dosham) first then i want to do the navagraha darshan i also want to reach back to chennai on the 7/1/06 night or 8th early morning what is the cheapest way to do that & where to stay mode of transport etc pl. advice thanks Travel Tips For your last question I gave a compleate programme. i have modified the same starting from Tirunageswarankoil near kumbgonam and finish at mayavaram area. Atleast this time please go. There is a cluster of Navagraha Temples dating from the Chola dynasty near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu. Each temple is located in a different village. Each of these temples is considered an abode of one of the Navagrahams. However, the majority of these temples are dedicated to Shiva. The Surya temple is the only one dedicated to the Graham. The Surya temple was built around the 11th or 12th century C.E. The other temples were built earlier, ranging back to 7th-9th century. You can complete darshan of all the temples in 2 days provided you plant your journey as under. You should engage a Car for 2 days, without which it may not be possible. Instead of staying at Kumbakonam you can stay first at Mayavaram. Staring from Kumbakonam in morning 6 a.m. or so you go to first to Tirunageswarm (Ragu) from there go to Alangudi (Guru) and finally Thingallur (Chandran) All these you have to finish in the forenoon on the first day. In the afternoon go to Suryanaar Koil (Suryan) near Aduthurai and then to Kanjanur (Sukran) which is nearby. You can stay in the first day night at kumbagonam or time permitting go to Mayavarm (Maiyladuthurai) and stay. The other temples are near Mayavaram only. Vaitheeswarn Koil (Angarahan)Thiruvenkadu (Bhudhan). This will be over before noon and after lunch you can proceed to Kilaperumpallam (Kethu) and Tirunallar (Sani) and back to Mayavarm. From Mayavaram on seconday evening/night you can proceed to your destination. You can not cover all the temples by bus in two days and if you have some vehicle it will be good, as from around 12 to 4 the temples will be closed and you loose good amount of time. The total distanace would be around 350 to 400 km. In all the temples you can do ordinary archanas but in Vaitheswarn koil you have to do 5 archans in 5 sannathis. At Tirunallar (Those who have sani dosham) take bath duly applying gingily oil at the tank called Nalatheertham (it is believed Kind Nala took bath here after sani released him. Here also only archanai and some cash in Hundi is enough. You can compleate the Dharshan nicely. Do not follow any other route and this is the correct and short route one after other. Now some thing anout the Navagraha Stalas - Surya Navagrahastalam -- Tirumangalakkudi(SuriyanarKoil...
