It will be fast and convenient. However i am giving you the detailed driving route from Chennai to Thiruvannamalai - Take NH-45 ( Chennai to Trichy highway) and drive past Tambaram,Chengalpattu, Maduranthagam & Melmaruvathur. Around 20 - 25 km before Tindivanam , you need to take a Right Turn for Tiruvanamalai ( A Big Sign board will be there at that place indicating this). Drive past Chenji and you will be in tiruvanamalai. Chennai - Tiruvanamalai distance is 187 Kms. Travelling time around 4 hours. Hope this will be helpful. Lovely experience ! the best route to tiruvanamallai is chennai - chengalpattu(take byepass) - tindivanam - tiruvanamallai.this is the route with excellent tarmac and its about 200kms,which you can cover in 4hrs max. This is a great drive and you could follow the route as mentioned: Chennai To Tambaram - Via Kathipara Junction, Guindy Tambaram To Tindivanam - On NH 45 - Super roads - 90 kms Before Tindivanam - Take Right - Bypass road - Clearly indicated by road signs From there it is one straight road via Gingee on the - 80 kms on Krishnagiri road. Clear signs all along the road This trip will take you 2.5 hours on a normal day. It is a great drive and will be the best route to take to pay respects to the great lord Arunachala!!! I drive to Thiruvannamalai quite often!!! |
