Is Air Deccan's Chennai-Tuticorin sector reliable?

Travel Info
I came to know that Air Deccan offers Chennai - Tuticorin sector. Is this flight a reliable one and operates without any last minute cancellation. I am planning to make my trip coming May - June.

Travel Tips
AIR DECCAN FLIGHTS - Two other persons answered before me have given positive replies. I am sorry I have to go against them. The low cost airlines like Deccan etc., offer very low fares even Rs. 9/= if you book well in advance. If such booking are more in a particular flight they work out the economics and cancel the flights. Then they will offer seats by other costly flights like IAC, Kingfisher etc., and you will be paying more fare..

I am writing this because of my experience on two occasions from Bangalore - Chennai (See it is one of the important and major trunk air route) and I have to travel by IAC. So nothing can be said firmly.

Others
Air Deccan is one of the most reliable airlines in India.
Normaly they do not cancell.
Air Deccan has recently done its IPO and has a reasonably good financing structure and are ramping up for market share. in addition to this, they are obliged to fly certain routes which are not high traffic but increase availability of 'alternate' transport, as per directives of the Indian Govt.
Net in effect, they usually dont cancel flights but i have experienced flights being cancelled 24 hours before journey once in a while.
Air Deccan also withdraws flight services on routes which do not 'pick up' in traffic, so if you are travelling a few months from now, i'd suggest you keep an eye on this route.
Airdeccan hasnt cancelled its tuticorin sector till date.you can definately plan you journey well in adv to get better fares.
Hi,
air deccan used to cancel the flights.... even they used to cancel the calcutta to dhaka(B'desh) flights... but when it comes to chennai- tuticorin, they wont cancel... don't worry dear.... plan yur tour... enjoy tuticorin(my native)... have a great time....

Cheers....!
No cancellations (or very little chance)... but be certain of delays... may be even by 10 hours.... with no provision for the passengers..... you will get regular SMS.... better go by road or take some other flight to Madurai and reach Tuticorin by Road from there..... My experience with Air Deccan had never been happy... Once during my flight between B'lore and chennai, their were no pilots to fly.... It seems that the pilot was flying without break, he walked off from the flight....
