What are the best places to visit in chennai? |
Travel Info I m going chennai on a two day tour and want to know the best places to visit there. also the good but cheaper hotels to stay there. Travel Tips You can start with these Spencer Plaza Marina Beach Temples in mylapore and Triplicane Church at Santhome, St Thomas mount, you could go to mahabalipuram (which is about an hour's drive from the city), or podichery which has some really good places and beaches You also have the Dizzie world, golden beach on the city's outskirts Others there are so many places marina beach vandalur zoo kishkinda theme park mgm dizzy world kovalam beach mahabalipuram kancheepuram mayajal and cheap hotel is hotel palm grove hotel dasaprakash newwood lands hotel savera hotel abu palace depends upon ur budget Chennai you may visit the following sight seeing places. St.George fort - Fort Museum - st Marys church - Marina Beach - st Thames church - Kapalseewar Temple - deer park - snack park - Egmore Museum - valluvar kottam. For city tour of Chennai kindly conduct the Tamilnadu Tourism Development corporation Ltd, Wallajaa Road, Chennai 600002 suryanaryanan tourist guide That I know of - Marina beach, shopping at Spencer Plaza and T Nagar, Museum at Egmore Hotel stay, budget not specified by you... Ht Savera tariff around Rs 3000/ Ht Mount Manor, Tariff around Rs 1200/- Ht Harrison Tariff around Rs 2000/ There is nothing really outstanding to see in Chennai. The Marina Beach is big and it is within walking distance of the Triplican area. Decent and safe rooms 200-300rps. Actually Chennai is a place only for the well heeled, if you have money, you can hang out, chill out and have fun. If you on a middle class or low string budget, then forget going out to see places. Because Chennai is cosmopolitan, hip and chic city. You can stay in some lodge located opposite Chennai Central Railway Station ... From the bathroom you can get a view of the Reservation building ... Prices quite cheap, then rooms also look quite nice, the interiors. Not bad, as the hotel newly renovated I suppose, forgot the hotel name, but stayed there with my friends long time back. Suggest you take a local train, go around the city in electric train ... suburban train, then understand what really life is in this fast paced Chennai ... Then strongly suggest you to go to the Besant Nagar beach, watch the sunset there, have some peanuts from the road side vendor... Then go to the wall on the beach, where all popular film stars and heroes have hang out in their films. Go there, smoke a Gold Flake King Size Cigarette, then go back to your lodge, really nothing much to see or enjoy in Chennai, with horrible traffic, sucks drinking water and humid climate which can make you always keep sweating even when raining or night time. |
