How do I travel from Chennai Airport to Chennai Egmore railway station? |
Travel Info I am in chennai just for 2 days & I have to go from chennai airport to chennai egmore railway station Travel Tips catch the metro train from chennai airport which is exactly opposite to airport and get get down at egmore station. Others You have three options (in the order of most convenient and higher cost to least convenient and lesser cost) 1. Book a pre-paid taxi in the counter near to Airport exit (may cost around Rs.500/-) 2. There is a Airport to City bus available (it is not frequent, i don't know any details about timings etc) 3. take the metro train opposite to the airport (you need to walk little less than half a kilo meter and need to cross the main road to reach there. You need to take the trains which goes to the destination of 'Chennai Beach Station' and get down at 'Chennai Egmore' Railway station http://360.yahoo.com/chennaideva... It depends upon how adventurous you are. I am an American who has been to India twice and I like to do it the hard way. Which is the bus. It is much more difficult to find people who speak English at bus stops. So it takes a lot more time and there is always some doubt until you actually get to your destination. And sometimes,if it is the first time,you can't even be sure then. So the easiest surest way is to take a taxi. I call them shark pools outside hotels and airports,places like that. You just walk down the line until you find someone who understands English and even then nothing is certain.I like to walk a block away from the pack of them where it is quieter. It also helps if you can find someone who knows how much it shoulf cost because,like I said,it's a real shark pool. But It's lots of fun. As long as you have plenty of time there is no problem. If you are in a hurry, a prepaid cab from the Airport is a good option. trian; just opposite to the airport there is TRISULAM RAILWAY STATION and u can catch the AUTO nad u can take the ticket to EGMORE RAILWAY STATION BY BUS; CATCH 70,70A BUS AND go to koyambedu .from koyambedu catch 15 SERIES BUSES.it will go to egmore railway station BY CALL TAXI; CALL 044-24444444 |
