What happens if you drive through a Chicago IPass instead of paying the toll? |
Travel Info On 294 Southbound, I missed the stupid pull-off area yesterday on my return trip from Lambeau field. The cash toll was $0.80, and I don't have an IPass. What are the consequences? A firing line? Mayor Daley gets to drive my car for a week? A bill for $0.80 that would cost the city of Chicago $4 to send to me? Travel Tips Well you're DEFINITELY NOT going to get a bill for $.80, but you do have 5 days to pay the $.80 before it becomes a finable offense. Good luck Source(s): http://www.illinoistollway.com/portal/pa... Other Travel Tips I think it's O.K if you do it once or twice. I do it all the time (but haven't lately.) I do know, however, if you do it all the time (like everyday) you will get a bill from the state but they charge a ridiculous amount for each toll you didn't pay. One time is fine.... They take a picture of your licemse plate and mail you a ticket for a fine + the toll. You get to meet Chicago SWAT face-to-face. Tell Bubba that Arnie said hey. in california, we have something LIKE that called the express-lane, and if you dont have one of those little transponder boxes in your car, they photograph you and you get a fine in the mail, and it's usually $35.00 + the toll. I'm not sure where I heard this, but you get 3 chances. They take a photo of the license plates now and then they send you a fine for like $75. If you've missed 1, I wouldn't worry about it. |
