Travel Info Are there any celebrities that live in Chicago? I'm going to Chicago for vacation and was just wondering if it was like New York City where there's tons of celebs hanging out and walking around. Travel Tips You won't see many "CELEBRITIES" walking the streets of Chicago. For better or worse, we're not like NYC where most of the music and theater institutions are based. Our version of celebrities is seeing Ozzie Guillen walking down Michigan Ave or seeing news anchor Ron Magers shopping for ties in Marshall Field... oops, I mean Macy's. Every once in a while you're see a national star walking down the street but only because they're in town for a concert or a play or filming a movie or something. DSo if you're expecting to run into J-Lo at Mr. Beef's or Jude Law waiting for the Brown Line at Belmont, forget it. The place to really see celebs is at the nightclubs, the trendy ones that are always popping up like Soundbar or something. But walking the street? Not so much. Others Definitely not as many, but you might have luck with the theater district, especially Steppinwolf. I know that Stacy Keach is in town for a Shakespeare gig. If you go to the high end restaurants on the North side you also might catch a glimpse. Vince Vaughn lives there. Maybe you'll see him and Jennifer Aniston. I see lots of music people around town, but those are the people I know and get excited about, I could care less about most movie and TV celebrities. I've seen Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins several times, and I've seen a couple of people from the band Garbage, but I'm the only one going nuts about that one. So my advise is, keep your eyes open. But it's not really very likely to see a big name celebrity. Oprah lives in Chicago and so does Jerry Springer. they hide here at times. there are a few so called celebs. there is no bus tour to point them out though. My wife works at the Cheesecake Factory on Michigan Avenue. Jerry Springer is a regular in there. He lives in the Hancock center. Quite a few of the Chicago Bears go in there. It seems to be a popular spot for rappers too. Ludakris was in there last week. Beyonce and Jay Z were there together not so long ago... |
