Uptown Chicago hotels/motels? |
Travel Info I will be in Uptown (I think, lol) Chicago for a concert at the Riviera Theatre.. and I am curious if anyone knows of any reasonably priced hotels in this area? I'd like something close to the Riviera (or as close as possible). If I just try to get a room somwhere when I get there would I still need a credit card to get a room or would cash be okay? If I have to have a credit card, would a debit card with the 'Mastercard' symbol on it be acceptable? Also I'll be travelling from the Greyhound station to that area, approximately how much would taxi/cab fare be? *almost too scared to ask* Travel Tips Don't need to take a cab. The CTA goes right there. Get off the Red Line at Lawrence Avenue and the theater is only one block away. http://www.jamusa.com/riviera/venload.as... From the Greyhound Station, walk over to Clinton Street and the Blue Line is right there. Take the Blue towards the Loop to Washington Street, where you can transfer to the Red Line. www.transitchicago.com As for hotels, the closest hotel to the theater is the Darlington Hotel. Their number is 773-561-1741. http://maps.citysearch.com/location/3717... There are several other hotels in the area as well. Have fun in Chicago. Others Uptown is not the, uh, nicest or safest area of Chicago to go looking for a hotel in the middle of the night. You could easily catch a train after the concert back toward downtown, where there is a wide selection of hotels in much safer areas. Lots of people will be headed to the train station after the concert, so you'll have plenty of company. You don't want to walk around Uptown by yourself in the middle of the night. |
